Membership:

At MHCB, we recognize that you are an individual with music goals and needs, as well as a valued member of the band(s) you participate in. For best results on both levels, you should expect to attend rehearsals weekly, as well as practice individually outside of rehearsals. Your attendance at rehearsals is particularly important! MHCB members have opportunity once per week to play as a group, see how music pieces fit together, play with their section, get instruction from the director(s), note music changes, or any number of other activities that occur only in weekly rehearsals. Missing rehearsals not only limits your progress as an individual, but the progress and opportunities for the band as a whole. For these reasons, we ask that you attend rehearsals weekly and let your director know as soon as possible on the occasions you will be unable to attend.  Of course, we need your participation in concerts as well.  Your part is most likely crucial to the sound of the whole and we want to sound our best for our own enjoyment and for the enjoyment of the audience.
