Colorado Community Band Festival UPDATE 3-17-2010

The event will be taking place at Citizen's Park, 22nd and Benton, in Edgewater,  on Saturday, July 10, 2010, from 10am to 6pm.

Each band that participates will have 20-40 minutes (depending on number of participants) to perform their favorite selections.

If we have eight bands attend, they will have 40 minutes to play, 20 minutes for tear-down and set-up (that's one an hour). If more than 8 "RSVP", then we'll play for 20 minutes, and allow 20 minutes for tear-down and set-up. If we end up doing 20 minute sets, we can have 12 bands play (with 20 minute tear-downs as well). If more than 12 RSVP, we'll shorten the tear-downs and if we need to, we'll move to another location!

Mile High Community Band (MHCB) will provide most of the chairs and stands for bands of 35 members or less. The playing area is a covered picnic pavilion and we'll have volunteers on hand to help arrange chairs and stands. So, no sound equipment, no "stage" per se, but if enough bands request it, we can look into getting those things.

MHCB will be providing posters and fliers to local businesses and schools to promote the event. These fliers can have your logo and information on them. And, we will have a Festival program that will include your logo and information.

We will also be producing public service announcements to be aired on local radio and TV stations. We are currently seeking partnerships with other businesses for event support, one of which is a major media outlet here in the Denver metro area.

We also plan on having shirts made for the Festival. Each participating band will receive shirts to sell, and any profits received from selling the shirts will be your organization's to keep.

Currently, these bands have expressed interest in participating:
Rocky Mountain Brassworks
Golden Eagle Concert Band
Foothills Pop Band (Ft. Collins)
MHCB (of course)
Mile High Freedom Band

We have invited over 40 bands from all over Colorado, as far away as Lake City, CO.

We anticipate the audience size to be at least 250 - 750 people throughout the entire day. That is estimating 8-12 bands with 35-70 audience members per band.

We also plan on inviting food vendors and other "festival-type" vendors to provide food, beverages, etc....

Once we receive a few more confirmations, we will be writing a press release and distributing it to all media outlets and participating bands.
