Brent Paulson, 1st Trumpet with the Alpine Brass, is an active freelance trumpeter for church services, weddings, and community theater productions. Locally he has played with many groups, including Rocky Mountain Brassworks, the Arapahoe Philharmonic Orchestra, the Wheat Ridge Chorale, and the Lutheran Chorale.
Although Trumpet is his principal instrument, he teaches all band instruments - woodwind, brass, and percussion. He developed and taught a unique music curriculum/appreciation curriculum specifically targeting small elementary schools. He teaches up to 80 students in schools and in his private studio.
In Summer 2008 Brent participated in the prestigious Raphael Mendez Brass Institute, where he had the opportunity to study in master classes with such noted musicians as David Hickman, Ronald Romm, Alan Dean, and John Marchiando, and to play under the direction of Martin Hackelman.
Brent is a graduate of Concordia College (NE), holding degrees in Education and Music Education. He currently teaches band in six elementary and middle schools, and teaches brass and woodwind lessons at Red Rocks Community College. Brent conducts the Beginning and Intermediate Bands of the Mile High Community Band.
